A new metal band has come to the surface of the community, and has fans ecstatic about their newest release entitled “Default.” Dead Air Divine is the combination of the talents of artists Tilian Pearson, former vocalist of Dance Gavin Dance, and Lee Patrick McKinney, the former guitarist for Born of Osiris. The duo first teased the announcement of their singles back in August with their debut “Breathing Underwater.”

“Default,” announced on September 1st and released on September 5th, has already surpassed 100,000 streams on Spotify with over 73K monthly listeners. Incorporating technical guitar work, an electrifying solo, and Tilian’s flawlessly powerful vocals, listeners are brought into an immersive headphone experience that feels like an ascension into heaven.

In contrast, the lyrics provide a darker storyline, one of seamless betrayal and a toxic, addicting love: “Will I be there when you’re ready? / You hit the mark when you’re petty / But I don’t got nobody else to trust / I’ll be there when you’re ready / to hold you up when you’re heavy / Don’t have much but you can have it all / Sweep my legs, watch me fall / When you need me, even by default / Dive right in, cannonball / When you need me, I’ll dive in, I’ll dive in.”

More is to come with the band’s formation leaving much to anticipate as the duo creates a fresh new sound in contrast to their prior works within their respective bands.
