UK-based electronic and indie duo TENDER released their newest single “Heavy” ahead of their fourth studio album, Where the Waves Break.
“Heavy” marks a new chapter for the band, acting as the introduction to the new album that reflects on balance, duality, and the fragile space between calm and chaos.
TENDER explain the new single, stating:
“[It’s about] having a crisis of identity when you’re in the prime of your life. 1st world problems. Wanting everyone to feel sorry for you when you have everything you need to be happy but refuse to be.”
“Heavy” is the single that sets the tone for Where the Waves Break, signaling the most ambitious project from the duo to date. The record as a whole will explore the push and pull of opposing emotional forces, from certainty and contentment to doubt and restlessness. Light and dark will exist side by side in the record, as it comfortably sits in the tension of emotional polarity.
To support the release of Where the Waves Break, which is set to hit streaming platforms June 4 via Nettwerk, TENDER will embark on a European headlining tour in October. The tour will include a special hometown show at Brixton Electric in London. Tickets will be available on February 9 here.
