Columbus-based artist Douglas Katula has released another single, titled “SOBER.” With a similar vibe to artists such as The 1975, The Neighbourhood, and Chase Atlantic, the independent artist has captured a very well-deserved mass of attention on social media, especially on Instagram after the release of his debut single, “TOURNIQUET.”
“SOBER” is an upbeat, rhythmic track with tender and soft layered vocals, combined with a captivating bass line. All this is disguised with melancholic lyrics: “Felt your breath / Crawl down my neck tonight / And I don’t know how we’ll make it alive / Cause I don’t want to see you fall / call me when it’s all over / I don’t like being alone / You make it hard being sober / Cause I don’t want to see you fall/ Call me when it’s over / Don’t fall, fall away / Cause I don’t want to see you fall.”
Along with being an independent artist, Douglas is also known for his work within the alt-rock group Outsider Heart, consisting of members Kovy (guitar and vocals), Jeef (guitar), Jonah (bass), and Jaxson (drums), with Katula as the lead vocalist. The release of his second single comes as Douglas gears up for the release of his first studio album titled SCREWTAPE, which is set to release on October 10th of this year.
Fans are eagerly waiting for any new singles dropping from now up until the album’s anticipated release.
