Nep shares playful new single “Biketoberfest”

Date:

Each time Nep drops a new track, the rising indie pop star delivers pure bedroom pop magic. Her new single “Biketoberfest” is easy listening and instantly catchy, mixing warm indie pop with a story that lands perfectly at the end of summer.

Her lyrics are witty and honest, with lines like “Daytona sucks” and “not the quiet little bird I used to be” balancing her playfulness with her personality. Along with the guitar riffs, which stand out in this song as probably the most notable part, it’s a reminder of her creativity and how unique she is as a songwriter.

“Biketoberfest” is inspired by the annual motorcycle rally in her hometown, where she would get stuck behind bikers on her way to school. What was once a random frustration is now, through her clever songwriting and production, a playful musical moment. Sharing her inspiration on the song, Nep comments:

There’s a motorcycle rally in my hometown called Biketoberfest—I didn’t like living there, and getting blocked and made late by bikers on my way into the city for school is so niche and weird that I just had to write a song about it!”

Her recent releases “Girls On TV” and “All Around Beauty” were equally memorable, following playlist placements on New Music Friday, Fresh Folk, Lorem, All New Indie, and Indie Pop. With each track, Nep is proving herself as one of indie pop’s most exciting new artists.
