Nathan Sykes, a former member of The Wanted, has announced the release of his new album, Ultraviolet, on October 17, 2025.
Ultraviolet represents a new chapter for Sykes, one that has allowed him to “strip away all outside influences and expectations to embrace who [he] is as an artist.” He goes on to share,
“I believe that when I’ve been writing this album, I’ve been at my most authentic and creatively free, and every track feels like a piece of me. I couldn’t be prouder of the journey to releasing this album, as it’s the truest version of myself I’ve ever been able to share.”
Sykes’ resurgence to the pop-culture mainstage began earlier this year with the release of his song “Pieces of Me” and a London show that sold out in just five minutes. On July 25, he released the second single in the Ultraviolet era, “Getting Lost,” an upbeat love song about the rush of new love.
This new album has been a long time coming; Sykes first began writing it in 2017 before putting the project on hold following his bandmate Tom Parker’s illness. Instead of continuing his work on the album, Sykes shifted focus to reunite the rest of The Wanted and celebrate all that they’d accomplished. After Tom Parker’s tragic and early passing, Sykes slowly began to return to his solo work. Since then, much of Sykes’ life has changed, influencing the lyrics and sound of Ultraviolet to ebb and flow much like his life has over the last decade.
Ultraviolet will be released on all streaming platforms, as well as on vinyl, CD, and cassette, and is available for pre-order and pre-save now.
