My Chemical Romance have announced that they’ll be bringing their Long Live: The Black Parade Tour to the UK for two massive shows at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium next year on July 10th and 11th.
The news comes just days after the New Jersey rock icons made history with a sold out hometown show at MetLife Stadium. My Chemical Romance received the honor of the key to their hometown of Belleville from Mayor Michael Melham during the performance and closed out the show with a cover of “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi, which vocalist Gerard Way deemed as “New Jersey’s state anthem.” The band’s North American tour dates will continue this Friday with a stop at Philadelphia’s Citizen Bank Park before wrapping up in Tampa, FL on September 13th at Raymond James Stadium.
The band’s groundbreaking, 4X-Platinum 2006 album The Black Parade continues to have a massive influence on the music industry nearly two decades after its release. The record recently received ten new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), including the lead single “Welcome to the Black Parade” becoming 7X-Platinum, “I Don’t Love You” and “Mama” earning their first Platinum certification, and more.
