Mumford & Sons have teamed up with Hozier for the much anticipated single, “Rubber Band Man.” The song was teased in late September on social media by Mumford & Sons, posting videos of them singing with Hozier, without showing the Irish performer’s face. Fans were quick to decipher who it was before the reveal came.
Hozier’s involvement in the record stems from a friendship with the band that stretches back to 2017 when he joined Mumford & Sons on stage to cover The Beatles’ “A Little Help From My Friends” when the British band headlined the Longitude Festival in 2017. “Rubber Band Man” was released alongside its music video, which features clips of the song being recorded in Long Pond Studios in upstate New York, as well as the group performing outside in a park and onstage at Red Rocks.
The single is exactly the soulful, folk rock tune you would expect from musical powerhouses like Marcus Mumford and Hozier. The two switch off vocals throughout the song, making for an intense song of yearning: “You’re a world away but you’re still the same // I know you by your heart and I will call you by your name.”

Mumford & Sons will finish out the year with a EU and UK tour with support from Sierra Ferrell. Tickets are on sale here.
