Misha and cocabona are a pair of Finnish artist/producers creating vivid, cinematic worlds surrounding their music. Bringing in the London-based icon Amelia Rose as a vocalist on their latest release “Wrong or Right”, Misha and cocabona expand their imaginative sonic universe to new heights.
“Wrong or Right” mesmerizes with dreamy synths, earthy bass lines, and effervescent vocals from Rose. The single is written about a relationship that falls apart in a haze of uncertainty. It captures the fallout of love turning against you when you least expected it over ruminative sonics that thumb through the past.
Revealing more on how the song came together, Rose confides, “When I heard this track, I initially came up with the chorus melody which inspired the idea of heartbreak and toxic behaviour from someone. Although the lyrics are alluding to something upsetting and distressing, the beat uplifts the track and allows me to still focus on creating a catchy top line.”
“Wrong or Right” is the third single from Misha and cocabona’s upcoming EP JOMO (Joy of Missing Out). They have worked with artists among the likes of Lalah Hathaway and Derrick McKenzie (Jamiroquai) in the past. Their recent collaboration with Amelia Rose on “Wrong or Right” feels fated as they approach the release of their highly anticipated EP.
