MATCHHOUSE makes an entrance with debut “The Wire”

Date:

MATCHHOUSE makes their debut with “The Wire” with plans to rock Hollywood’s legendary Whisky a Go Go tonight in celebration.

The Los Angeles based four-piece recorded the single in Pasadena at Oak House Studio and features Ryan Law (vocals/rhythm guitar), Ryland Stevenson (lead guitar), Anthony Ambrose (bass/piano), and Chris Mexas (Drums). The band pulls inspiration from 70’s rock and 90’s grunge to bring us a nostalgic yet modern rock cocktail (dare we say rock-tail?)

“The Wire” is self-reflective and touches on really getting to know oneself and understanding your own view point. As we grow and encounter new experiences, it’s only natural for our perspective to shift. The self-awareness to address and adjust is the not-so-natural element, and this song captures the complexity of growth and vulnerability.

Law’s vocal range leaves a lasting impression that blends well with the smooth and sultry instrumentation. As this is the band’s debut single, I can only imagine what they have in store for us in 2024. Keep MATCHHOUSE on your watchlist.
