British-born Louis Knight has released a new single titled “Until You Come Home,” a reflective yet uplifting pop-rock track in the vein of James Arthur about overcoming heartache.
“Until You Come Home” starts as a ballad with an acoustic guitar accompaniment before transforming into an uptempo anthem with the introduction of the drums in the second verse. From beginning to end, though, Knight’s emotional vocal performance is the driving force of the song, making the listener feel the intention behind every word he sings.
Lyrically, Knight writes about finding his way back to his old self after going through pain. In the verses, he reflects on his journey to healing, singing, “I’ll take the bad years / And all of the baggage / Make it all worth it in the end / ‘Cause growing’s a habit.” Meanwhile, in the soaring chorus, he promises to do whatever it takes to reconnect with himself: “I’ll cut my hair and I’ll change my face / Say I learned from my mistakes / Until you come home.”
Since debuting in 2019 with his single “Change,” Knight has become a top 7 finalist on season 28 of American Idol and released two EPs and a string of singles that went on to amass millions of streams on Spotify alone.
