Limp Bizkit’s bassist, Sam Rivers, sadly passed away at 48

Date:

We mourn the loss of Limp Bizkit’s bassist and co-founder, Sam Rivers, who sadly passed away on October 18, at the age of 48.  The band shared the following statement via their official social media channels: “Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat. Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player — he was pure magic. The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.”

Rivers publicly battled alcoholism, which eventually resulted in a liver transplant in 2017. He stepped away from the band in 2015, but rejoined in 2018 and remained active until his passing. He leaves behind an iconic legacy and will be remembered by his fellow bandmates, family, friends and his fans.
