LANY is about to step onto the Grand Ole Opry stage for the first time on November 14 as part of the 100th anniversary celebration alongside Kelsea Ballerini and Bobby Bones. Most people think of LANY as an indie-pop duo, but they actually have some country roots flowing through their veins. Paul Klein (vocalist) hails from Oklahoma and Jake Goss (drummer) from Arkansas. The band started out making music in Nashville, even releasing a country-pop album, mama’s boy, in 2021, which features tracks like “cowboy in LA” and “if this is the last time.”
The duo is fresh off the release of their sixth studio album, Soft, and have recently announced an accompanying world tour that will kick off on January 23 in Dubai. When reflecting on the past year, Klein shares, “I don’t wish for a life of adversity, but I must acknowledge that we seem to shine the brightest in our darkest hour. In the last year, I’ve been hit by a car, watched a wildfire damn near burn my home to the ground, and now a freak accident at the gym has left me with a broken wrist…It’s almost as if something really good is about to happen to us.”
Adding to the excitement, Klein has partnered with Elwood Clothing to create a 19-piece collection inspired by his own closet, dropping this Friday, November 7. Fashion has always been a big part of Klein’s self-expression, so the line feels like a natural extension of his creative identity.
