Following the explosive success around his debut record earlier this year, Knox has unleashed the deluxe edition titled Going, Going, Gone (For Good). This extended edition features three new tracks, including “Maybe I Do,” “Voicemail – Live From Columbus, Ohio” and his latest single “White Knuckles.”
“White Knuckles” presents itself as a dynamic track that tackles fighting for love and refusing to let go of it despite the many hardships and obstacles in the way. The song’s production feels cinematic, almost like a dramatic confession of love in a coming of age film with its soaring guitars and pounding drums. It’s a cohesively stunning addition to Going, Going, Gone that keeps up that same vibrant emotionally-charged energy found in the standard version.
Knox’s ability to vividly paint a picture with his raw lyricism is unique and captivating within the modern pop-rock atmosphere. “Pulling over ’cause the tears running down your face / Make the rain look light” and “Even when my strength’s running out / I still hold you somehow like it’s all I know” depict the emotional intensity of this love and his unwillingness to give up that easily no matter where they find themselves.
