Kid Cudi will release his most personal project yet with ‘Cudi: The Memoir’

Date:

The hip-hop world was forever changed when Scott Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi, released his debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, in 2009. Critics raved about its emotionally-charged and introspective songs, along with its genre-bending style. Kid Cudi is seen as an artist who speaks for those who are incapable of doing so, with projects that are anthemic and revolutionary. Outside of the music scene, he has established himself as an actor with various appearances in movies, and as a storyteller with the release of his Emmy-winning visual album, Entergalactic, in 2022. In 2023, he debuted his fashion label, Members of the Rage (MOTR), at Paris Fashion Week, adding “fashion designer” to his already impressive résumé.

As cool and impressive as all of his accomplishments are, there is always more to the story. This is where Cudi: The Memoir comes in.

It took a period of deep self-discovery and soul-searching for Kid Cudi to write this memoir. Across its pages, Cudi offers lessons and advice that helped him overcome his struggles. He touches on themes of depression, isolation, addiction, and doubt, making this one of his most personal projects yet. Ultimately, he was able to find his way back to himself. With Cudi: The Memoir, he hopes that others will be able to do the same.

Kid Cudi has always been an advocate for mental health, fearlessly talking about his challenges with his own mental health when given the opportunity. Fans have often heard him elaborate on the subject in his music, with songs like “Day ‘N’ Nite,” “Pursuit of Happiness,” and “Mr. Rager.” By speaking up and speaking out, Kid Cudi has resonated with those dealing with their own challenges as well.

Cudi: The Memoir will be released on August 12. You can pre-order a copy here.

August is definitely going to be a busy month for Kid Cudi, as he will also drop his new album, Free, on the 22nd. You can pre-save or pre-order it here.
