jxdn is taking us back to 2013 by channeling his inner Justin Bieber Journals era. His latest single “Better Man” dropped last Friday (March 13) and has amassed nearly 100,000 streams on Spotify.
Since the beginning of his career, the “ANGELS & DEMONS” singer has always stated that he would transition from his original pop punk lane to a more R&B infused sound. Through the years, jxdn has praised Bieber for the impact he’s had on the direction of his career, often stating him as one of his idols.
There’s no denying “Better Man” is a banger. Still, it’ll be interesting to see jxdn continue developing his own identity within R&B, rather than leaning too heavily into Bieber-inspired territory.
jxdn on the release of “Better Man”:
“This song marks the next phase of a brand new chapter for me, but somehow it also feels familiar, like I’ve been here before. I’ve been working on this music for a long time and I’m so excited for what’s ahead. Even more than that, I can’t wait for the world to finally hear it. “Better Man” is just the beginning.”
