Jonah Kagen teams up with Sam Barber for highly anticipated “Burn Me”

Date:

This year has been on fire for Jonah Kagen and Sam Barber, but things are truly starting to heat up for them. After releasing his debut album last year, which already has 1.5B global streams, Sam went out on the ‘Restless Mind World Tour.’ The tour was sold out and found Sam playing at iconic venues and festivals around the world. He recently followed up the album release with “Man of the Year,” a stirring single that he will undoubtedly perform on his ‘North America Tour’ this summer.

Meanwhile, Jonah dropped his third EP, Black Dress, in November, which he recorded and produced all on his own. When we interviewed him in January about it, Jonah was ready to play these songs out on the road. He recently toured with Sam and will be on tour throughout the rest of the year. Currently, his song “God Needs The Devil” reached the #1 spot on alternative radio, which sets him up nicely for his new single, “Burn Me.”

On “Burn Me,” Jonah and Sam join forces to deliver an emotional, thought-provoking track. The acoustic-based song centers on choice and deciding what is wrong or right. Their folksy timbres blend well together, as they sing about conflicting values. We hear, “I don’t know if I was made from God’s hands / But I know my father is a good man / I’m realizing now how the world bleeds / So if you’re gonna burn him, you can burn me.” All the while, there is a fearless and bitter spirit that comes through, as if the two artists are shunning old values and trusting in what they believe.
