Isabella&Sebastian release final single, “Lobbytommy,” ahead of debut LP

Date:

Indie pop duo Isabella&Sebastian have released “Lobbytommy,” the final single from their debut LP, Is Anyone Listening? The track explores Isabella DeFir’s personal experience with self-sabotaging tendencies, paired with a beat-heavy, textured production featuring warped banjo riffs.

Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, Isabella DeFir and Sebastian Stephens describe themselves as young artists with old souls and vivid imaginations—qualities they say fuel their creativity and songwriting.

Their debut LP, Is Anyone Listening?, includes 11 tracks developed through an experimental process that blends multiple genres. The result is a soundscape that’s both fresh and emotionally resonant. The album touches on themes of navigating life, the thrill of infatuation, the ache of longing to be perceived, and the beauty and pain of being highly sensitive.

Three-time Grammy winner Brad Blackwood masterfully produced the project, showcasing the duo’s musicality and innate talents cultivated since childhood.

Over the past year, DeFir and Stephens say their creative partnership has kept them motivated and inspired. According to DeFir:

“When Seba and I work together, there’s so much inspiration coursing through us and so many lightbulb moments constantly going off in our brains. I’d love for people to feel that and feel encouraged to chase their own dreams, no matter what their dreams are. At the end of the day, we just want to invite everyone into this warm and welcoming community of people who love music—and hopefully leave them feeling more inspired, vibrant and alive.”

Released last Friday, the album represents just a fraction of the duo’s creative force. They hope Is Anyone Listening? leaves listeners eager for what’s to come, drawn in by their whimsical, playful sound.
