Is KJ Apa the modern-day Hannah Montana, cosplaying as MR. FANTASY?
MR. FANTASY has taken over the internet, and fans have started speculating with theories that KJ Apa is the musical alter ego behind the project. While there’s been no official confirmation from Apa himself, clues have started to add up because of similar appearances and identical tattoos. Even Riverdale co-star Lili Reinhart has chimed in on TikTok with a shocked “Oh my god.” In 2023, Apa was featured in V Magazines 50th issue, where he sat down with none other than James Franco. You might be wondering what the significance of that is? But if you take a look at MR. FANTASY’s Instagram following, you’ll notice that he only follows Franco fan accounts. Coincidence? Maybe, but if you connect the dots, it’s pretty clear MR. FANTASY is really just KJ Apa in disguise.
If you’ve kept up with Apa over the years, it shouldn’t come as a shock to you that the New Zealand native would create an alter ego to release a project. In 2021, he went viral for being the TikTok personality behind @fifiisqueen. To add fuel to the fire, Apa has acted in several projects that require some sort of musical talent, including the movie I Still Believe and the hit teen series Riverdale. In September of 2021, Apa even independently released his debut album, Clocks, featuring 10 original songs.
On August 25, MR. FANTASY released his debut single “Mr. Fantasy.” Following its release, the musician has released part one, two and three of the music video. Check them out on his Instagram.
What do you think? Is MR. FANTASY the modern day Hannah Montana, or does KJ Apa have a twin?
