“I Can’t” breathe in new single, according to Empara Mi

Date:

New single “I Can’t” is a powerful release for Empara Mi, delivering an evocative reflection on heartbreak that puts her evolving artistry on display. As the lead single on her upcoming album Monsters & Masochists, the song stands as both an emotional force and compelling intro to her most promising work to date.

The creation of “I Can’t” carries a fortune teller-esque quality, written as an exploration of loss only for it to become true shortly after. This painful combination puts raw emotion into every note of the song. Through mellow melodies and mystical production, Empara Mi transforms anguish into universal catharsis.

“I Can’t” has a unique ability to transcend genre objections while carrying heartbreaking emotional coherence. Empara Mi created a cinematic world that complements the weight of her lyrics with a perfect embodiment of the same emotion in her instrumentals. She shares more:

“I didn’t realise I was foreshadowing my own fate when I first wrote this song. The mere thought of losing the thing I loved the most was enough inspiration for me to write that day, just for it to actualise right after, in a very cruel life imitates art kind of way. I wanted this song to be the first chapter in a much bigger story, as it very much opened the door for me to go to hell and back and everywhere in between when writing the album.”
