The Trinidadian-American rapper-singer is quickly cementing himself as one of Brooklyn’s most exciting new voices, perfectly mixing sun-soaked melodies with Afro-pop beats. It all began in 2023 when he released “Beyonce,” which was obviously destined to do well since its title implies greatness. At the time, Pitchfork named it as the “must-hear rap song of the day” while BET claimed that Haran was “one of the freshest artists out of New York.” The single also made its way across the airwaves, from appearing on Apple Music’s Zane Lowe Show to landing on SiriusXM’s Sound 42.
Lately, Haran has kept the momentum going with other noteworthy tracks. Last year, FADER praised his single “On & On,” while SHEESH! couldn’t get enough of “Can’t Deny.” After teaming up with Vontee the Singer on “Love Me,” he then closed out the year with “Zoom,” leaving fans with much to look forward to in 2025.
