“Madeline” is an electro-pop paradise filled to the brim with striking synths, groove-centric bass lines, and riveting percussion. Highschool Jacob sings, “Oh Madeline, wrap me up in your arms / Make me feel, make me feel alive.” Noting on the tendency to double-text and crave the attention of our crushes, Highschool Jacob pens a relatable anthem for those who sport rose-colored glasses.
Revealing more on his track, Highschool Jacob confides, “I wrote this song when I was overcome by the feeling you get when you like someone and they don’t like you back. You ignore everything and anything that indicates they don’t like you, even though it’s probably for the best that they don’t like you anyways.”
