Gina Zo is a Philadelphia-born, Los Angeles-based artist who has dedicated her career to uplifting women in music. She strives to exist outside the box that female vocalists are so often put in. Her latest single, “Dirty Habits”, is a rock-meets-pop ode to our wild imaginations. Written about building something up in your head before seeing it come to fruition, “Dirty Habits” leans into the feel-good fantasy that comes with daydreaming.
Packed with striking, 80s-reminiscent synths, euphoric hooks, and sharp melodies, “Dirty Habits” is a vice you’ll keep coming back to. She sings, “Please don’t call / Don’t wake me up from this dream.” Paired with a vibrant music video to match, the visuals for “Dirty Habits” capture Zo on a night out. She meets someone new, but gets caught in between pushing them away and wanting more of them. “Dirty Habits” is an enticing anthem on how our own mentality is sometimes our worst enemy when it comes to romance.
“Dirty Habits” was produced by GRAMMY-winning producers Justin Miller (Zach Bryan and Jazmine Sullivan) and Tim Sonnefeld (Usher). Serving as the first single from Zo’s upcoming debut album, she offers us just a taste of what’s to follow.
