FireBug is a Joshua Tree based rock band who feeds off music from the 60s and 70s through the modern age to inform their unique sound. Their latest single “Time Marches On” is a powerful reverie on the permanence of each moment. Firebug confronts hard truths; how we, as humans, can’t fight against the ever-ticking clock.
“Time Marches On” entices the ear with striking notes of piano, pulsating riffs, and powerful vocals from lead singer Juliette Tworsey. She sings, “No looking back / Oh, train it rolls onward / On a one way track.” The music video for the single captures FireBug performing over vibrant visual landscapes of flowers blossoming and closing in on themselves. A perfect representation of how time shapes us all, the imagery for “Time Marches On” is evocative and stirring.
FireBug recently gained a sync placement on Apple TV+’s Smoke. “Time Marches On” was produced by Jordan Lawlor who has previously worked with greats in the genre including Beck, M83, and Deftones. FireBug continues to push the envelope and explore themes that are pivotal to our being as humans.
