Feel with Isabel Pless in “Nobody’s Funeral”

Date:

Isabel Pless released her latest single, “Nobody’s Funeral”, on July 5. This track follows the release of self-titled single, “Isabel”, which quickly became Pless’s third-ranked song on Spotify, rapidly amassing over 22,000 streams. In addition to “Isabel”, Pless boasts success in “Bechdel Test” and “More to Give”, which have racked up over one million streams each.

Pless’s ability to write relatable yet hyper-specific songs stands out in her music, and especially “Nobody’s Funeral”. The single, coming off her forthcoming debut album, captures the feeling of being “ghosted” (or suddenly ignored without an apparent reason), for what seems like the millionth time, of being lonely in an otherwise crowded bar, and of driving home after yet another terrible first date. Pless’s atmospheric instrumentation stands out in this tune, and her lyricism shines for those who relate, and for those who are just excited about another Isabel Pless song.

Prior to the song’s release, Pless posted a teaser on Instagram reels that read:

“I wrote this song for the girls with anxiety stomach related issues, you’re welcome.”
