ENHYPEN’s SUNGHOON to serve as torchbearer at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics

Date:

SUNGHOON from the beloved Korean boy band ENHYPEN has been selected to serve as a torchbearer for the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, which are set to begin next Friday, February 6. The invitation came from SUNGHOON’s connection with Samsung Electronics, an official Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner.

Having a unique background with the South Korean Olympic team, SUNGHOON trained in figure skating for many years, during which he was a member of South Korea’s national reserve team, before retiring to pursue his music career. Last year, he officially became an promotional ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, helping connect sports with the wider public.

In anticipation of the upcoming Olympics, the artist shared his thoughts:

“I know how much passion and effort national athletes have put into preparing for the Winter Olympics, and I sincerely want to support and cheer for them. Competing in the Olympics was once my dream as an athlete, so being connected to that dream now as a singer is truly meaningful and an incredible honor.”

SUNGHOON and his band (consisting of other members JUNGWON, HEESEUNG, JAY, JAKE, SUNOO, and NI-KI) have also received the honor of having their song “SHOUT OUT” from their 3rd mini album, MANIFESTO : DAY 1, become Team Korea’s official cheer song for the upcoming Winter Games. The boys continue to rise through the industry with their catchy and rhythmic music, recently achieving the No .2 spot on the Billboard 200 with their recent mini album, THE SIN : VANISH, gaining mass attention on TikTok with the title track “Knife.”
