elishéva craves individuality in new song “Flash Tattoo <3”

Date:

elishéva takes pride in her love of jazz, which led to her musical and academic journey at Berklee College of Music where she learned the ins and outs of the genre and gained recognition for her vocal performances. In 2020, she began exploring other genres and found ways to share her story through folk-pop by blending her jazz experience with her new experimentations. Her latest release, “Flash Tattoo <3” focuses on the repetition found in some relationships.

“Flash Tattoo <3” dives deep into the motives behind sweet gestures. Through steady percussion and supportive guitar, elishéva questions the sincerity of her partner. Lyrics such as  “You copy, paste, you imitate / You plagiarize yourself again / You feel like a one size fits all” call out this partner’s tendencies to create cookie-cutter relationships with everyone they date.

Sharing more about the meaning behind “Flash Tattoo <3”, elishéva comments:

“Like, did he take her here too? Did he call her the same nickname? Except the answer is actually yes… I have a tendency to get hooked to certain things, and once I do, I obsess. It was a particularly damaging realization, but a necessary one.”
