Death Cab for Cutie announce summer headline tour and ANTI- Records signing

Date:

Death Cab for Cutie has announced that they’ll be embarking on a headline tour across North America this summer.

The tour begins with their appearance at Outside Day Festival in Denver, CO on May 29th before officially kicking off the 22-date run in Minneapolis, MN on July 10th. The tour is set to visit major cities across the continent including Los Angeles, Toronto, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and more before wrapping up on August 7 in Paso Robles, CA. Death Cab for Cutie will be joined by Japanese Breakfast, Jay Som and Nation of Language on select dates. Speaking on the upcoming dates, frontman Benjamin Gibbard shares,

“One of my favorite parts of being in this band is getting to be out on the road with artists that inspire us. Japanese Breakfast, Jay Som, and Nation of Language have made some of our favorite albums in recent years and we’re stoked they’ll be joining us this summer.”

In addition to the tour announcement, Death Cab for Cutie also shared that they’ve signed a deal with ANTI- Records, officially ending their 22-year partnership with Atlantic Records. Gibbard adds,

“We are thrilled to be joining the roster at ANTI- which includes some of our favourite artists, old friends and in many cases, both. We also can’t wait to begin this new chapter with the wonderful staff at ANTI- and share with you what we’ve been working on.”

Fans can sign-up for an artist pre-sale through the band’s website here before it begins on Wednesday, January 28th at 10am local time. General on-sale tickets will be available on Friday, January 30th at 10am local time as well.
