Dan + Shay have put their own spin on a Taylor Swift classic, “Back To December.” The duo originally shared their rendition to TikTok on September 29, and because of the overwhelming response from fans, they quickly released an official cover on October 17. Their take on the song is currently ironically sitting at No.13 on the iTunes Songs Chart.
“What started as an impromptu soundcheck cover of one of our favorite Taylor Swift songs turned into the quickest recording-to-release turnaround in our almost 13 year career. Huge thanks to all of you who encouraged us to get in the studio and make a full version, and to everyone on our team who worked like crazy to help us make it happen. We’re proud of the way it turned out, and hope you love it as much as we do.”
The country duo have recently celebrated the six year anniversary of their massive collaboration with Justin Bieber, “10,000 Hours.” The song debuted at No.4 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Dan + Shay’s first-ever Top 10 on the Hot 100. It also debuted at No.1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, where it held the top spot for 21 weeks. The music video features all three of their wives, further cementing it as one of the best love songs ever created. The song won Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2021 GRAMMY-Awards and has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.
