Emerging from the East LA DIY scene, Clarion is gearing up to release their Blue Fairy EP on March 27th. The post-punk outfit recently released its loud, blistering title track that stands as a clear indicator of their sound and spirit.
“Blue Fairy” sheds the skin of past eras for Clarion and watches as they discover their voice in real time. Pulling their inspiration from the shoegaze, post-punk, and alt-rock spheres, Saya Oliva (bass/vocals), Anthony Sanchez (guitar), and Javier Flores (touring drums) are crafting their story as authentically and loudly as possible.
“Blue Fairy” is unfiltered proof of their ability to turn chaos into catharsis, telling a story through a carefully constructed soundscape. The group is also heavily influenced by artists like Fennel, Sonic Youth, HUM, Julie, Black Flag, and Paramore to name a few. Sanchez shares,
“It’s an homage to ‘Confess’ by Fennel.”
Clarion will spend most of this spring on tour, with a mix of festival slots, headline dates, and support runs with Mexican Slum Rats and Panchiko, respectively. Tickets and information for all of the band’s upcoming shows can be found here.
