Casey McQuillen releases “Wedding Date” and is announced as a new advocate for Ditch The Label

We love an artist on a mission, so naturally, we are drawn to Casey McQuillen. The London-based singer-songwriter releases music that speaks to all emotions, helping others feel seen, appreciated, and supported. In April, for instance, she released “Better Than This,” a pop-rock anthem that was all about following your dreams. The quarter-million fans who have seen Casey perform the song on tour this summer have been all about the single, so there is no doubt that she will impress even more fans on her upcoming headline tour this September. For now, she gives us “Wedding Date,” which touches on the quiet torment of longing and desire.

With “Wedding Date,” Casey does her best to reconcile what she wants with what she has. She gives us tortured lyrics throughout, speaking to those who understand what it is like to get your hopes up for someone, only for them to fall back down. With her expressive pop vocals, she shares, “When you ask me to dance / I feel my heart breaking / 2 a.m., you’re at my door / Now we’re lying on the floor, you grab my waist / You’re killing me slow.” In the end, she claims, “I know the end before we begin,” trying to accept the inevitable fact that this situationship was not meant to last.

Recently, Casey was announced as a new advocate for the global youth charity Ditch The Label, which focuses on preserving youth and young adult mental health. They offer a safe space for those who are struggling with identity, bullying, relationships, and social media, and help over 21K young people each month. About this new partnership, Casey shares,

“I’ve spent years touring schools across the U.S. and Europe, performing my anti-bullying concert series and connecting with students about confidence, kindness, and self-worth. That’s why I’m so proud to officially partner with Ditch The Label, an organization that shares my mission to empower young people to stand up against bullying and embrace who they are. Together, we’re amplifying a message that’s more important now than ever: you are not alone, and you are enough.”

Partnerships manager Lucy Churchill also explains,

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with Casey McQuillen at Ditch The Label. Her message of self-acceptance and resilience, especially through powerful tracks like ‘Skinny,’ speaks directly to the values at the core of our work. At Ditch The Label, we support young people to navigate the things that matter most to them: from mental health and identity to friendships, bullying, body image, and relationships.”

You can listen to “Wedding Date” on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
