Bright Eyes announce new EP ‘Kids Table’

Date:

Bright Eyes announced their new EP Kids Table will arrive on September 26th via Dead Oceans. Pre-save/pre-order for the new record is available here.

The EP consists of eight tracks, including “1st World Blues” and the trio’s latest single, “Dyslexic Palindrome” featuring Hurray For The Riff Raff’s Alynda Segarra. The dynamic duet explores the dark complacency of living in a capitalistic society and continues their creative partnership after recent tours together. Frontman Conor Oberst shares,

“Alynda Segarra is one of the most soulful people I have ever encountered. Everything that passes through them is haunted by the weary ghost of American music past. I have had the good fortune of recording and performing with them on many occasions and I am always blown away by Alynda’s ability to channel what is both intangible and universal. Seemingly walking along in a second line of skeletons. Blowing on a valiant horn. I know it sounds crazy but, yet, there Alynda is. Always so very present but with one foot on the other side.”

Following the release of their 2024 album Five Dice, All Threes, Bright Eyes return in full force for Kids Table. The EP combines bons mots, wordplay, and literary references with a sound that stays true to the band’s DNA. The board-game inspired cover art is a reflection of defining moments associated with growing up mixed with the rouge optimism and pragmatic despair the band has become known for.

Bright Eyes are currently on the road for their North American tour, with dates on the west coast continuing through early September. The band will then be traveling to Asia for a few shows to close out the year in November and December. Tickets and information for Bright Eyes’ upcoming shows can be found here
