Ber asks for that “Good, Real” on new single

Date:

It is fitting that Ber’s breakout single was titled “Meant to Be,” as if confirming that all that was coming her way was supposed to happen. The singer and songwriter was always in pursuit of the right opportunities, writing with artists and friends, moving from city to city, and studying music in Norway and England. In doing so, she was able to sharpen her songwriting skills and develop her own voice, which results in humorous, heartfelt, and truthful songs. After the release of “Meant to Be,” Ber caught the attention of NPR, The Line of Best Fit, and Ones to Watch, as well as praise from Maisie Peters, Sigrid, and Tom Odell, who have all invited her to share the stage with them on tour. Ber just has a way of getting through to people, and on her latest single, she just wants some of that connection to rub off on her.

On “Good, Real,” Ber captures the small things in a relationship that made it pure. It is a very radiant and rhythmic track, with colorful synth and illuminous pop vocals. All the while, Ber mentions fragments of memories that she will forever hold onto, like “black coffee,” “second-hand smoke,” and the “blue t-shirt from the charity shop.” In the end, she gives us a dreamy and intimate experience, one that makes her ask for “that good, real” before she goes.

About “Good, Real,” Ber explains,

“‘Good, Real’ was written as I was falling in love in real time and experiencing the bittersweet odds of long distance. Lyrically, it’s a bit of a time capsule for me, capturing those moments of falling that felt like the first ray of sunshine after a long, dark winter of loneliness, and wanting to hold onto them with a tight grip because those moments were always fleeting. It’s a pure, shiny love song at its heart, and I’m so excited for you to hear it!”

Ber is currently on tour with Tors around the US through November 2. You can get tickets here. Next year, Ber will support SYML in Europe on their ‘Nobody Lives Here Tour’ from January 29 to February 8. Tickets can be found here.
