BABYMETAL and Slaughter to Prevail release “Song 3”

Date:

Two of the most boundary-pushing forces in modern metal, Japan’s BABYMETAL and Russia’s Slaughter to Prevail have collided on a thunderous new single titled “Song 3.” The track will appear on both bands’ upcoming albums: BABYMETAL’s METAL FORTH and Slaughter to Prevail’s GRIZZLY. As one of their most aggressive offerings to date, “Song 3” finds a perfect and wildly unexpected middle ground between kawaii chaos and deathcore destruction.

Written between the UK and Russia by Slaughter to Prevail’s Jack Simmons and Alex Terrible, the song was sent across continents to BABYMETAL, who laced the track with shimmering melodies and incredible flow. What emerged is a track that is as theatrical as it is brutal. The melodic choruses soar high above intense breakdowns and Terrible’s gutturals create a tension that’s both cinematic and precise.

It also features an unexpected guest appearance from Matt Heafy (Trivium), who plays the shamisen, giving this song a surreal and textured depth that further adds to the chaos. The new single arrives on the heels of BABYMETAL’s collab with Poppy, and Slaughter to Prevail’s explosive single “Russian Grizzly In America,” both of which stormed streaming charts in under a month.

Looking ahead, METAL FORTH is shaping up to be BABYMETAL’s boldest statement yet. Meaning “beyond metal,” the album boasts collaborations with Spiritbox, Tom Morello, Polyphia, Bloodywood, and more, cementing BABYMETAL’s place at the center of a new, borderless era in heavy music.

Listen to “Song 3” anywhere you stream music.
