Atomic Tom proves their ambition in new single, “Wake Up The Night”

Date:

Atomic Tom—a band born from the iconic New York rock scene alongside indie legends Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Strokes—allows their ambitious drive and captivating band chemistry bleed into their new single, “Wake Up The Night,” the third track off their third album, The Way It Never Was.

The journey of Atomic Tom, formed in 2005, consisted of recording their debut album in a cramped apartment, signing with Republic Records and Sony/ATV after selling out New York venues, TV show appearances after going viral with their “Take Me Out” video recorded on the New York subway and independently releasing their second album, ERA, in 2015. Now, 10 years after their second album, Atomic Tom has released their third album, The Way It Never Was, proving the strength of their musicianship and their passion for the art.

“Wake Up The Night” combines rich, filling vocals with a consistent, echoing beat that pulls and tugs from the feelings hidden deep within, hoping to uproot all that’s holding them back. Much like how the song shifts from light, accompanying instrumentation to the explosive, anthemic chorus, nothing will happen if you stay in one place, so going for it with ambition and no regret is key to fulfillment. This single also seems to reflect Atomic Tom’s journey of remaining resilient and ambitious throughout their 20 years of being a band—making it clear that they aren’t planning to slow down anytime soon.
