Following the release of the first half of their sophomore album I Think I’ve Been Here Before in May, pop-rock trio Arrows in Action have announced the second half of the record will arrive on September 19th via Nettwerk Music Group.
Unlike Side A’s bright and optimistic exterior, Side B of I Think I’ve Been Here Before explores a darker, more vulnerable aspect of the human experience. Even the album cover reflects this, as the once warm-toned depiction of a lighthouse in the daylight has switched over to a cool-toned moonlit view. Speaking on the album’s themes, Arrows in Action shares,
“The second half of I Think I’ve Been Here Before will lead you into a groovier, sexier, sleeker vibe with a splash of sentiment. With ‘Cheekbones’ leading the charge for this new feel for the band, Side B explores attraction, longing, desperation, and the fear of loss, all packaged in a shiny pop-rock sound.”
The album’s latest single, “Empty Canvas,” accompanies the announcement with a fun, creative music video that sees the trio embrace their artistic side and get covered in paint. The track explores romantic infatuation and the phenomenon of falling head over heels for someone. The band continues,
“‘Empty Canvas’ is a high-energy dance-rock song about being so infatuated with someone that you’ll become anyone or anything just to be with them. The song mixes pop elements, a chorus you can jump to, and groovy saxophone riffs that match its sultry and passionate lyrics.”
The saxophone adds a unique touch to “Empty Canvas,” showcasing a promising first glimpse into the rest of this new era that lies ahead. Arrows in Action deliver an exciting new song that grabs your attention from the second you press play. Its lyrics are playfully honest and convey the desire to do anything possible to catch the interest of someone after falling hard.
After finishing their very first UK/EU headlining tour and making appearances at major festivals including Download and Rock for People, Arrows in Action are set to keep the momentum going in the United States for this year’s Summer School Tour. Hitting the road alongside artists like Taylor Acorn, Rain City Drive, Charlotte Sands, and more, the tour kicks off in Detroit on July 11th before wrapping up in Philadelphia on August 10th. The trio is also set to perform at the iconic Vans Warped Tour for the Long Beach and Orlando dates of the iconic festival.
