Taylor Swift has unveiled her next era: The Life of a Showgirl.

The 14-time Grammy Award winner announced her 12th studio album last night, titled The Life of a Showgirl. Swift made this announcement with the help of her boyfriend, Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce on the teaser clip for the next episode of their New Heights podcast. The news was shared at 12:12 a.m. ET on August 12th to her social media accounts, sending the world into a craze.

In the teaser, Swift is seen pulling her album out of a mint green briefcase with her T.S. initials in orange on it; the official cover is conveniently blurred out. “This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl,” she reveals, as Travis cheers “T.S. 12!”. Earlier in the day, it was announced that Swift would be speaking on the upcoming episode of the brothers’ podcast, which will be released this Wednesday. Swifties are making the safe assumption that the singer’s album cover and more information will be discussed during the episode. Coincidentally, the episode comes out on Aug. 13; Swift’s historically lucky number.

This is the first project release for the Pennsylvania native since she celebrated buying back the full masters to her first six studio albums in May 2025, which fans have been elated about since that day. This is also the first project for Swift since her historic 11th album released in April of 2024, The Tortured Poets Department; she has not put out anything new since her time on the record-breaking Eras Tour.

Swift’s official website, which once displayed a countdown, now leads to her online merch store where fans can pre-order copies of the album’s vinyl, a cassette, and a CD + poster bundle. Under each product listing, the description states that the items will ship before October 13, 2025; however, the official release date has yet to be disclosed.

The album cover art on her website is displaying as a mint green blurred square with a glittery orange padlock in the center; this was also applied to all of her social media profile photos. Swifties are planning on tuning in to Wednesday’s episode of the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast to unlock what Swift is hiding.
