Matya defies a polarizing world in “Nosebleeds”

Date:

Pop rock artist Matya released her newest single, “Nosebleeds,” on Sept. 13. Creating anthems for the generational rebels of today, Matya splits her time between Los Angeles and Paris, working with the likes of Dan Bailey (Father John Misty, Lana Del Rey) and John Velasquez (Broods, Zella Day, Vacations).

Matya’s sonic landscape goes beyond the genres categorized in today’s music – she sets herself apart with her own genre called avant rock. “Nosebleeds” is a part of her upcoming EP, Like The Roses, So It Goeses, and fits perfectly with the avant rock title. The track is a sharp, tongue-in-cheek tune that aims at polarizing trends and white noise that so often distract us in today’s world. Matya channels the frustration felt when navigating today’s lifestyle, capturing the disconnect amongst us.

Matya will play an EP release show for Like the Roses, So It Goeses on Oct. 3 at Resident DTLA. Tickets can be purchased on Matya’s Eventbrite.
