Toronto’s best The Beaches made their return to Boston for a spectacular show full of chaos and joy. They delivered a masterclass in modern rock with vintage heart, blending bratty punk, slick pop hooks, and unapologetic feminine energy. Led by frontwoman Jordan Miller’s sultry vocals and magnetic stage presence, sister Kylie Miller’s sick guitar riffs, ‘lesbian of the year’ Leandra Earl’s effortlessly cool aura, and Eliza Enman-McDaniel’s mesmerizing drumming really made for an unforgettable night.
From the opening chords, the band commanded the stage with the kind of confidence that only comes from relentless touring and genuine camaraderie. The girls have been blowing up over the past few years, seeing immense success with their album Blame My Ex and even more praise with their latest album No Hard Feelings which just came out in August. It’s a work of art and an album they should definitely be super proud of.
The band blended a perfectly curated setlist for the night featuring hits from Blame My Ex like “Edge of The Earth”, “Cigarette” and of course their smash hit “Blame Brett”. The majority of the setlist consisted of songs off of their newest album like “Lesbian Of The Year” , “I Wore You Better”, and “Last Girls At The Party” , which the crowd went absolutely crazy for. During their song “Jocelyn” Jordan came down to the crowd to find their Jocelyn to sing to and dedicate the song to which was such a sweet moment.
The Beaches bring the party every time they come back to Boston, and the Boston crowd sure knows how to party with them. It’s been so amazing seeing The Beaches grow into all of this success over the years and they are such a joy to watch. If you haven’t seen The Beaches live then you are surely missing out on a fun time! You can catch them on the rest of their No Hard Feelings Tour here.
