Lorna Shore delivers an epic performance at Prague’s O2 Universum

American deathcore band Lorna Shore graced the O2 Universum in Prague with their presence this past Sunday, January 25. It was a night teeming with heavy music and community supporting their new album I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me, released in September 2025. The band was joined by Whitechapel, Shadow of Intent, and Humanity’s Last Breath, delivering an evening full of energy.

Swedish progressive deathcore band Humanity’s Last Breath was up first, opening with their hit “Väldet.” The small arena was filling up for their set as lead singer Filip Danielsson growled into the microphone. This was the first time the crowd in Prague heard the band’s new single, “Godhood,” live. With the smoke on the stage and Danielsson’s face being covered by a black hooded cardigan and long hair, they certainly set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Deathcore band Shadow of Intent, hailing from Connecticut, brought the energy up even higher. Their set consisted mostly of new songs from their 2025 album Imperium Delirium, including “They Murdered Sleep” and “Feeding the Meatgrinder.” A circle pit broke out on the floor at the request of lead vocalist Ben Duerr. And, of course, they saved the crowdpleaser for last, closing with “The Heretic Prevails” from their 2017 album Reclaimer.

It was American death metal outfit Whitechapel, however, that really brought the room to life. The legendary band stormed the stage with “Prisoner 666” from their newest album Hymns in Dissonance, released in March 2025. They launched into song after song from the new album, including a short interlude of “Ex Infernis.”

Whitechapel ended their set with a few older classics, including “This Is Exile” from their 2008 album of the same name. Lead vocalist Phil Bozeman thanked all the bands in the lineup profusely for being there, and he made sure to use the Czech word for Prague, “Praha,” when thanking the crowd before exiting the stage; if he hadn’t won them over already, he certainly did with that small bit of Czech.

By the time Whitechapel finished, the arena’s standing section was filled to the brim and people were hurriedly taking their seats in the stands for Lorna Shore. The band is known for their cinematic music, and lead vocalist Will Ramos is considered one of the best metal vocalists of this generation — it was no wonder the anticipation in the room was palpable.

As soon as they entered the room, Lorna Shore set fire to the stage — literally. Opening with “Oblivion,” the band had the crowd going wild with the use of synced pyrotechnics. The flames shot up and out over the audience, adding heat to their performance right from the start. Lead guitarist Adam de Micco, in particular, was immediately showing off his chops. Between the fire, the energy of the band members, and Ramos’ signature long, curly pink locks flying around him as he screamed, this was an unforgettable opener that locked the crowd in as soon as it started.

Beginning with songs from I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me before throwing it back to their 2022 album Pain Remains with “Sun//Eater” and “Cursed to Die,” the band commanded the attention of the audience with every note they played.

Their impeccable performance was sometimes supported by lyrics appearing on the video screen behind them, and sometimes by videos of fire and nature, immersing us even more in the world of their music. At one point, it even looked like drummer Austin Archey, on an elevated platform, was moving through a snow-covered forest. All the while, their cinematic sound was perfectly held down by rhythm guitarist Andrew O’Connor and bassist Michael Yager.

The crowd went particularly wild when Ramos introduced “Glenwood,” opening the pit up even wider. Lorna Shore closed out their set with all three of the “Pain Remains” songs from the album of the same name, with the return of the smoke and synced pyrotechnics elevating the experience. People in the stands were out of their chairs and on their feet as the band poured everything they had into their last few songs. Before “Pain Remains III: In A Sea of Fire,” Ramos warned the crowd it was their last chance to wake up, and fans took it to heart.

The band left the stage, but nobody in the crowd moved in anticipation of an encore. We didn’t have to wait long. Ramos soon sauntered back onto the stage, joking with the crowd “We heard some people saying they wanted one more song. Are we in the right place?” They launched into perhaps their biggest hit to date, “To the Hellfire.” The emotion in the room was tangible as fans took in these last few intense moments with the band. As the song came to a close, Ramos left us with thanks and well wishes: “Get home safe tonight so we can see you at the next one.” And there’s no doubt that every person in that room is already looking forward to the next Lorna Shore show.

Lorna Shore delivered an epic performance down to every last detail from beginning to end. Ramos’ friendly demeanor shone through in his interactions with the crowd, and his vocals were absolutely flawless throughout the set. Being in the crowd on Sunday night was such a pleasure; we felt like we were transported into another realm of the band’s creation, completely forgetting about the outside world as they played.

If you haven’t seen Lorna Shore live, we can’t recommend them enough. Luckily, their EU/UK tour just started and will continue through the end of February, but tickets are selling fast. Remaining tickets are available here.

In mid-April, they’ll also be touring across North America with Paleface Swiss and Signs of the Swarm. Tickets are available here.
