The Driver Era kicked off their 2019 tour in Boston at Great Scott, and it sure was a night to remember. It was a cold, late night in Boston, the show didn’t start until 9:15 but that didn’t stop people from coming out. You could feel the excitement all around the building, even outside as the eager fans couldn’t wait any longer to get inside and see their favorite band. The atmosphere in the venue was electric, you could tell how happy people were to be there, they were ready for the show to get started. The night kicked off with a captivating set from PUBLIC who are a three piece pop band from Cincinnati,OH. They played songs from their EP titled Sweet Lemonade, a new single “Honest”, as well as throwing in a cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” which really got the crowd pumped up and ready for Driver Era to Take the stage.

It was finally time for The Driver Era to grace the stage in Boston. This was the moment the crowd had eagerly been waiting for. The lights dimmed and all you could hear were screams of joy from the sold out crowd at Great Scott. The Driver Era took the stage by storm. They opened up with “Feel You Now” which got the crowd into it right off the bat. Most of the songs played were new songs along with a cover of an R5 song “Red Velvet” which was their previous band before switching to The Driver Era in 2018. There was an acoustic break in the set that just featured lead singer Ross Lynch and a guitar.The acoustic set would feature their song “Stop, Don’t Move” which was soothing to listen to and the crowd swayed and sang in unison. That was the soft, relaxing part of the set, but now it was time to get back to dancing. They would continue with the song “Never Tear Us Apart” and nearly everyone in that room was dancing. The Driver Era would play a total of fourteen songs while even throwing a cover of a Frankie Vallie song “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” which made the crowd go crazy. They would cap off the night with their popular song “Preacher Man” which has nearly six million streams on Spotify. The Driver Era truly made this night in Boston one to remember.
