French electronic duo Justice lit up Columbia, Maryland’s Merriweather Post Pavilion on June 12th. This show marked their second stop in the DMV since the release of their 2024 album Hyperdrama. Many fans, still buzzing from last year’s show at The Anthem, were eager to see how the performance would translate to an open-air amphitheater. Dressed in sparkling jackets and oversized glasses, Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé took their places behind the sound decks and launched the night with the menacing tension of “Genesis,” before plunging the crowd into their cinematic world of pulsing synths and towering visuals.

Lighting panels rigged on cables moved and transformed around them like a living, breathing machine. The show ranged from blinding rhythmic strobes to euphoric bursts that shimmered across the venue, often feeling more like a sci-fi film than a concert. Amid the sensory overload, the duo remained strikingly composed—rarely looking up, hyper-focused on their gear as they sculpted each moment in real time.

The set spanned two decades of their discography. They weaved in highlights from every era into a fluid, high-impact narrative. Fragments of “We Are Your Friends,” “Neverender,” and “Phantom” emerged as recurring motifs, while fan favorites like “Stress” and “TTHHE PPAARRTTYY” hit with full force. They closed the set with the euphoric classic “D.A.N.C.E.,” their iconic glowing cross illuminating the backdrop.
After the show, the duo stayed a while to thank fans and sign autographs at the barricade.
