With a voice as comforting as a warm embrace, a JUNNY concert was what we all needed during this chilly season. The talented Korean-Canadian R&B artist returned to New York for his must-see [null] Tour. Promoted by MRG Live, the tour supports his second full-length album null.
Marking his third visit to New York, JUNNY was welcomed back enthusiastically by fans known as JUNNIVERSE. Before the show, he treated VIP ticket holders to a photo session and soundcheck experience. Fans began lining up as early as noon, and by the time the doors opened, the venue was at capacity for the sold-out performance.
Opening up the set was DAUL, who served as JUNNY’s DJ for the rest of the night. With the crowd all warmed up, JUNNY emerged with a string of new hits, “Passion, Pain & Pleasure,” “SOUR,” and “Energy” from the tour’s namesake album. The album consists of twelve new tracks, most of which he’ll share with us, alongside standout hits from earlier in his discography.
There was no doubt that it was cold out, as JUNNY thanked everyone who braved the weather to attend. Fully embracing his charismatic stage presence, he didn’t shy away from showcasing his sultry side, adding smooth body rolls to his performances. Riding the momentum of “TASTE,” the crowd passionately shouted “AYO!” in unison as the song ended.
After a brief pause, JUNNY introduced his accompanying DJ DAUL, who was also his producer for null. His opening DJ set was met with cheers, and he returned the love with a bow. JUNNY then gave a shoutout to the “sexy ladies and sexy fellas,” hilariously noting that the male audience gets louder every time he comes back on tour.
Calling the crowd loud was an understatement; in fact, JUNNY noted that it was so loud he couldn’t hear himself sing. Grateful for the sold-out night, he expressed his appreciation once more before transitioning into “Thank You,” a track whose heartfelt lyrics perfectly mirrored his sincerity. A tender moment followed when a fan handed him a rose — a sweet and thoughtful gesture made even more amusing by the fact that the next song he introduced, “Not About You,” was inspired by his ex-girlfriend.
Following a jazzy rendition of “Sweet Release,” JUNNY shared a memorable interaction from the VIP meet-and-greet earlier that evening. He revealed that “Sweet Release” is his favorite track from null and dedicated the performance to the fan he had spoken with. The song carried a refreshing, almost cleansing energy, which JUNNY noted makes it the perfect listen for letting go of stress.
JUNNY never fails to charm the crowd with his sexy stage presence and sultry vocals. Though momentarily confused when fans began barking mid-show, he quickly realized it was simply their playful way of showing excitement and appreciation.
Beyond his smooth vocals, JUNNY showcased his impressive rap skills on “RUSH (feat. BOBBY)” and “Optimist (feat. Blase).” The crowd threw their hands up, moving in sync with the infectious beats as JUNNY hyped the room — even spraying water into the audience to keep the energy high. “We’re just f*cking getting started,” he teased before launching into one of his biggest hits, “INVITATION (feat. Gaeko).” Within moments, fans were passionately singing along, with barking echoing through the venue by the song’s end.
Chants of “JUNNY! JUNNY!” erupted, and he responded that it was time to take a photo to commemorate the moment. A fan passed over the City of New York flag, signed by JUNNIVERSE, which JUNNY and DAUL proudly held up for the crowd photo. Draping the flag over his shoulders like a cape, JUNNY introduced what he claimed would be the final song of the night, “figure8,” as the crowd lit up their phone flashlights for the sentimental track.
It isn’t over without an encore, of course, as JUNNY returned for a second performance of the fan favorite “INVITATION (feat. Gaeko).” The show left fans with smiles as they shuffled out of the venue. One longtime fan even commented that this show felt spicier than any of the previous ones she had attended.
The connection between JUNNY and JUNNIVERSE remained evident as he lingered behind to sign autographs and take selfies outside of the venue. His genuine warmth and remarkable talent make him an unforgettable live performer — the kind of artist who guarantees a memorable night from start to finish.
