Derived from the word “therapy,” THERA is the perfect artist name for someone who uses music as a way to heal and connect. And so far, THERA has lived up to this name. In 2024, the young artist from the Czech Republic made an impression with her debut album, I Wish I Called. It contained hits like “stain,” “DLTTI,” and “guardian angel,” which all went viral and made their rounds on notable editorial playlists. Fans could hear themselves in these songs, and they were ready to see what THERA would do next. So in 2025, she went on tour with Eurovision winner Loreen on a sold-out European tour, embracing fans and making unique connections. She also released “rewind,” an honest and vulnerable track that explores toxic love. It was immediately added to various Spotify editorial playlists, and its introspective storytelling was compared to that of Billie Eilish. We are now only a month into 2026, but so far, it’s shaping up to be another career-defining year for THERA. She teamed up with KNWLSY for a remix of “rewind,” giving it a danceable style that would reach audiences in a new way. She is also the main support for Jason Derulo on the European leg of his upcoming ‘The Last Dance World Tour.’ During this exciting time, we caught up with THERA to learn more about the remix, the tour, and what else fans can expect from her this year.

Hi, THERA, it’s nice to meet you. How is 2026 going for you so far?
Hi! Thank you so much for having me. 2026 has been going well so far. A lot of rehearsing and preparing for the tour, to make sure that everything is in place. But, it has also been amazing being back with my whole team in one room.

You recently released the KNWLSY remix of your single “rewind,” which was a big hit when it first came out in August. How did you know you wanted to release a remix version of the song?
When writing “rewind,” I really wanted it to come across as a dance track that people could dance to, but at the same time, making sure the song had a deep meaning that fans could relate to. Which, for this song, is the never-ending cycle of a toxic relationship. In my head, it’s kind of like a dance, where you keep on spinning in circles and cannot get out. This is why I felt it might be fun to make a new version of the track where it would be even more in the EDM style. Like, if you were going out dancing or getting ready to go somewhere. Just a track to hype you up really, and that could feel yourself needing to dance to.

When working on a remix, do you just let the DJ/producer do their thing, or do you work close together to get the style right?
Honestly, this remix really surprised me as KNWLSY came to me with this idea of what the track could sound like, and I instantly fell in love it. This doesn’t normally happen, as I usually like to work closely together to make the style and mood of the track right. However, the first version was just perfect, so we went with it because it perfectly embodied what I needed it to.

So, “rewind” is about a toxic relationship cycle. What is your next single going to focus on?
I cannot spoil too much about my upcoming single, as I want to keep it a bit of a secret for now. However, the fans who have been or are coming to a show on this tour are very familiar with it. It’s a track that shows my growth in my vocal ability and really delves into the dark-pop era I want my music to be in.

Have you started working on your sophomore album?
Yes, I have! I have slowly begun putting the pieces together of what the album could sound like, or mainly what I want it to sound like. We’ve written a couple of songs for it, and after this tour and mainly after graduating high school in May, I will be taking the time to fully finish it and give the fans an album that I am really excited for.

Next week, you will hit the road with Jason Derulo on the European leg of his ‘The Last Dance World Tour.’ Are you ready?
I have never been more ready. We have finished all rehearsals for the tour, and I truly think it is going to be so special. I have put a lot of work and effort into my performance, and my main goal is for the fans to have fun and for it to be just such a special evening.

What are you most looking forward to on this tour? Is there anything you are least looking forward to?
There are so many things I am looking forward to. I have said a couple times that I am not sure if I am more excited to perform or to see Jason perform. It’s all just really exciting. The new environment, the staging, the show, all of the stuff we’ve prepared… I am so really excited to travel and be to a couple of places I’ve never been before. It’s one of my favorite parts of touring, visiting new places. So honestly, in short, I am just excited to get on the plane on Wednesday and be there already!

The tour will be a milestone for you, and another one to add to your résumé. In September, for instance, you became the first-ever Czech EQUAL Global Ambassador. What was your reaction when you first learned of this?
I honestly was in shock when I first found out. It was such a surprise for me, as I only found out once it was confirmed and it was ACTUALLY happening. I remember waking up and seeing the message and instantly running to my mom downstairs to tell her that I am going to be the First CZECH Equal Global Ambassador AND that I am going to be up on the NYC Times Square. We both couldn’t believe it. I still feel such honor to not only be able to represent my home country, the Czech Republic, but to also be part of a program that empowers female writers, singers, producers, and more in the industry. It is something I will never forget for the rest of my life.

What else can fans expect from you this year?
A lot of touring and a lot of new music. Once I graduate high school, I am going to be taking time to fully focus all of my energy on music, and I cannot wait to show the fans this new era. It’ll be a combination of the sad-pop and dark-pop/dance music. These two genres feel the most like me, and I cannot wait to create an album that showcases both of these sides, and mainly my growth as an artist since my debut album, I Wish I Called. I also really just want to tour as much as I can, as the live shows are truly one of my favorite parts of my career.

Thank you so much for your time, THERA. Any final thoughts or comments?
Thank you so much! I would say for anyone considering coming to a show, this is your sign! ‘The Last Dance World Tour’ with Jason Derulo is going to be an experience of a lifetime, and I cannot wait to see you all there!
