Benson Boone gets “Mystical Magical” on a glitter-pop journey through ‘American Heart’

Date:

Benson Boone released his newest album American Heart last week featuring the lead single “Mr. Electric Blue.” This album marks his second studio album, following his debut  Fireworks & Rollerblades. Featuring emotional lyrics and catchy melodies that resonate with fans across the world, this album is a must have for music lovers both young and old.

American Heart explores themes of resilience, heartbreak, and self-discovery, drawing from personal experiences and emotional journeys. When speaking about the new release Benson stated, “I wanted this album to reflect not just my music but my journey, the ups and downs, and everything in between.”

The ten track album features a mix of emotions so seamlessly intertwined. Tracks like “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else” and “Momma Song” showcase his ability to blend  storytelling with catchy hooks, setting the stage for an album that feels both intimate and universal. The weight of the lyrics matched with the incredible production of this record truly allow him to explore various musical landscapes, keeping listeners engaged throughout the entire album.

Written over the course of 17 days with long time collaborator Jack LaFrantz, the album was inspired by Bruce Springsteen and Americana music, with Boone intending it to have a retro vibe. This is not the last we will be seeing of Benson Boone as he will be hitting the road in August for this American Heart tour and plans to hit several major cities including Nashville, Atlanta, and Seattle.
