sombr runs from the dread of moving on in new music video for “undressed”

Date:

With two hit songs successfully climbing the charts and his upcoming headline tour selling out within seconds, sombr—the project of the 19-year-old rising singer-songwriter Shane Boose—seems to be unstoppable. Adding to his creative, momentum-driven force, sombr released a music video for the #4 track on Spotify’s U.S. Top 50, “undressed,” that is filled with chaos, beauty and running—lots of running.

While this music video release may come as a surprise to some, this isn’t the first time sombr has gifted his fans a music video without notice. Just over a month ago, he dropped his first official music video—apart from his visualizers—for his hit song, “back to friends” featuring contrasting vibrant and dull visuals that perfectly encapsulate the track’s emotional intensity.

The visual story of “undressed” conveys a similar, gut-wrenching feeling to “back to friends,” with sombr once again illustrating his fear of moving on from a comfortable, safe love. The video features an array of symbolic visuals—one second sombr is passionately singing into a microphone and the next he’s sprinting away a group of undressed runners. The idea of being emotionally or physically undressed by someone new is something that sombr is so desperately trying to avoid, he’ll even run to escape a head-on collision with that reality.

Fresh off of the Second Wind Tour as the support act for Daniel Seavey, sombr will heading out on his very own headline tour across North America and Europe — The Late Nights & Young Romance TourTickets are available, now.
