Indie pop band Foster The People have recently premiered their brand new music video, “See You In The Afterlife / Feed Me.” The emotionally charged double feature video showcases Foster The People’s lead singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Mark Foster alongside his 3x Emmy Award-winning wife Julia Garner as themselves. The visual was directed by Weird Life Films’ Laura Gordon, Jackson James, and Ryan Ohm.
Mark Foster describes the footage as “somewhere between a fever dream and a digital afterlife.” He ties these two songs together to create a representation of the two sides of consumption – “the dopamine rush of intake, and the void that follows.” “See You In The Afterlife” and “Feed Me” are both on Foster The People’s newly acclaimed album, Paradise State of Mind.
The album was put together by Foster and bandmate Isom Innis with contributions from Paul Epworth, Jack Peñate, Chrome Sparks, and Asa Taccone. The album also includes notable tracks such as “Chasing Low Vibrations,” “Take Me Back,” and the astoundingly radiant first single, “Lost In Space.” The album made a top 10 debut on Billboard’s Top Albums Sales chart upon its August 2024 release, and was met by critical applause around the world.
Foster The People will continue to celebrate Paradise State of Mind with a number of upcoming US festival appearances, including highly anticipated sets at San Diego’s Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival (May 17), Manchester’s Bonnaroo (June 13), and Chicago’s Lollapalooza (August 1).
