Grammy-nominated R&B artist Summer Walker has officially launched a new musical chapter with the release of her latest single, “Spend It.” The track, available now on all major streaming platforms, arrives alongside a visually rich music video and two alternative versions titled “Spend It (Diamonds & Pearls Version)” and “Spend It (Rent is Due Version).”
“Spend It” marks a stylistic shift for Walker, showcasing a bold lyrical approach that prioritizes material self-worth over emotional vulnerability. The opening line, “Give me the last 4 of your credit card, buy back my love, you can keep your heart,” sets the tone for a song that blends satire with empowerment. Produced with a hypnotic R&B groove, the track explores themes of power, pleasure, and autonomy, signaling a departure from the emotional narratives of her previous work.
The music video for “Spend It” expands on this narrative with a high-concept visual storyline. Directed with cinematic flair, the video stars P-Valley actors Gail Bean, Miracle Watts, and Brandee Evans, with additional appearances by Angela White and Eric Roberts. Set in a luxurious mansion during a high-stakes private game, the video follows Walker as a glamorous ringleader orchestrating an elaborate heist. Scenes include a pearl-filled bathtub, a turquoise trap room, and a dramatic final twist where the safe reveals only a Joker card. The video ends with the URL “WhereIsTheAlbum.com” and a cameo by internet personality Joanne the Scammer, teasing the next phase of Walker’s career.
“Spend It” is the lead single from Walker’s upcoming album Finally Over It, the concluding project in a trilogy that began with Over It (2019) and continued with Still Over It (2021). While the first two albums explored heartbreak and personal growth, Finally Over It promises a thematic evolution; focusing on closure, reinvention, and the fantasy of moving forward unburdened.
In addition to her latest release, Summer Walker is set to join Chris Brown and Bryson Tiller as an opening act for the Breezy Bowl XX Stadium Tour this summer. Tickets are available here.
