Teenage Dads play first headline show at The Echo in Los Angeles

Date:

Indie Rock sensation Teenage Dads are just now finishing their North American tour, and every single night has been a show-stopping spectacle.

The Dads (as they’re informally known) played in Los Angeles, California for the fourth time since becoming a band in 2015, but their first time playing a headlining show. Performing at The Echo along with support from The Grinns, dedicated fans anxiously lined up before doors opened. Before doors opened Vincent Kinna (drummer) and Jordy Finley (singer) went through the line and passed out free pins that said ‘I <3 DILFS’ respectively and chatted with fans along the way.

They opened their show with some iconic hits: “Tale of a Man,” “Boarding Pass,” “Moon,” and “Midnight Driving.” They were even surprised with a few deep cuts from their earlier projects, Club Echo and Potpourri Lake with the tracks “Cheerleader,” “Elevator,” and “Sunburnt.” Replacing “Exit Sign” with “Spiders” off Majordomo in its place on the setlist.

As the show progressed, the energy level only skyrocketed. The vivacious nature of songs like the synth-pop earworm “Live Until You Die”, the rambunctious “Hey, Diego!” (inspired from the cartoon Go, Diego, Go!),  and even the swashbuckling sea shanty, “Day In The Life of A No-Good Pirate,” left the crowd ecstatic and screaming for more.

The Dads themselves were elated for the entire set. Complete with plenty of funky dance moves, booming vocals, and on-stage shenanigans. They brought such an animated and rambunctious energy to the stage, that it was impossible not to bust a move even if you’d never heard their music before.

One of the qualities that sets The Dads apart is how they prioritize creating authentic connections with their fans. Not only on social media but in person as well. After every stop on the tour, without fail, they always stay in the venue to chat, meet, and take photos with fans until the venue kicks them out.

The Dads are touring the UK this fall and tickets to upcoming tour dates are available here.
