Melodic Music Monday: May 5

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

——

YUNGBLUD, “Lovesick Lullaby”YUNGBLUD’s newest single is that 90s British pop punk we all know and miss. The English singer-songwriter has just released his newest single “Lovesick Lullaby” on April 25, accompanied by a music video. The track is a mix of chaotic energy and bliss perfectly emulated in the visuals of the video.

– Ashley Cardenas

——

Kacey Musgraves, “Lost Highway”Kacey Musgraves is the first artist to sign with the newly relaunched Nashville-based Lost Highway Records – the same label that gave her a shot back in 2011, before Same Trailer, Different Park put her on the map… To mark the occasion, Kacey released a stripped-down cover of “Lost Highway,” the Hank Williams classic the label is named after. It’s a quiet, intentional nod to her roots – and a new beginning.

– Jennifer Touche

——

Sam Fender, “Tyrants” – “Tyrants” is upbeat and perfectly captures Fender’s classic rockstar energy as he sings, “So rail against the tyrants now / The ones who rattle in your head / And make something out of the rain / Raise up a glass to lament the dead.” The single features a catchy guitar solo in the final minute that is sure to get listeners on their feet. It’s no wonder that since its release, “Tyrants” has amassed over 850,000 Spotify listens.

——

Briston Maroney, “Better Than You” – “Better Than You” is rock’s best friend, containing all there is to love about the electricity and emotion of the genre. From the blood-bumping electric guitar solos to the attention-grabbing, raw vocals, Maroney takes the spotlight as a rockstar who isn’t afraid to show the side of himself that has been eager to be let loose.
