Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:
——
Cameron Whitcomb, “Bad Apple” – Cameron Whitcomb‘s “Bad Apple” is gritty and tongue-in-cheek, capturing the modern struggle between indulgence and self-restraint. Following the release of “Options” and his Hundred Mile High Tour, Whitcomb is setting himself up for a major breakthrough year, solidifying his place among the most exciting new voices in alt-country and Americana.

Lorde, “What Was That” – In “What Was That,” Lorde not only marks her return to the music scene but also showcases her ability to capture the complexities of human emotion with vulnerability. The song is a raw reflection on love, loss, and self discovery effortlessly blending euphoria with sorrow. As Lorde embraces both personal pain and creative rebirth, “What Was That” reaffirms her position as one of the most unique and introspective voices in music today. With her powerful return, Lorde invites listeners to experience her journey of growth and heartbreak, leaving us eagerly anticipating what comes next in her evolving musical journey.

The Band CAMINO, “Infinity” – The Band CAMINO has returned with their latest single, “Infinity,” marking their first release since their 2024 EP Bruises, following The Taking Shape Tour. Released on April 23, the track starts a new chapter for the Nashville-based trio — Jeffery Jordan, Spencer Stewart, and Garrison Burgess — as they enter their tenth year together. After an Instagram post with a not-so-cryptic caption, posted on the anniversary of the release of their very first single, the band knew a new single release was the only appropriate way to celebrate.

——
Natalie Jane, “how u been?” – Fresh off of her SICK TO MY STOMACH tour, Natalie Jane is ready to continue building her music career. This time around, she is celebrating her birthday by releasing the latest single from her highly anticipated upcoming summer album, titled “how u been?” Emotionally raw, the single recounts seeing an ex with a new partner at a party. Natalie Jane channels her dizzying emotion into visceral lyricism that pulls at the listener to reminisce what could have happened if things ended differently.
